Abstract

Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is a common method introduced in the beginning of the last century. It is widely used in children of different age groups, especially in the newborn period to provide basic nutritional requirements. It is associated with considerable decreases in morbidity and mortality of many diseases. In this study, we reviewed clinical applications of TPN and its complications in relation to pediatric surgery.
